ACHIEVEMEPHOBIA (FEAR OF SUCCESS)

The fear of failure is very common. Nobody wants to be tagged a failure. Failure is what everyone tries to avoid, not success. Everybody loves success. Yet, there’s something called the fear of success. Strange, right?

The fear of success comes when you think about the implications of succeeding at what you do. Many times, the feeling comes as a form of incapacitation in handling the positive boom that will result from being the best. You feel like you can’t handle the effect of success.

I’m not talking about the quick fix to success or the get-rich-quick schemes. I’m talking about the results of your consistent effort built overtime. The fear of success makes you feel unworthy of succeeding. It makes you feel undeserving of success.

This kind of feeling makes you sink deeply into mediocrity. There’s always a silent whisper of fear when you strive for excellence. It says in your ears, “are you sure you can handle the resultant effect of what you want to do?” “Are you sure you have the capacity to handle what is coming?” “Are you sure your already busy schedule can carry the vibes without falling apart?”.

These words are subtle and resonate deeply within you. They feel like genuine concerns but are not. They are lies.

You have the capacity to excel. You are entitled to greatness. Don’t keep wallowing in mediocrity, all to justify your seeming inadequacy for handling the effect of success. The fear of success is real. Don’t get entangled with it.
